“Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you
rest.”(Matthew 11:28)
Caring for one another in need or crisis is at the heart of our Pastoral Ministry Care Process. Those who come to our door for care deserve a high quality of pastoral care. Here we offer deep listening, suspension of judgment and prayer. Our hope is to call individuals in pain or transition out of isolation and into community. While pastoral care is about sharing all of life’s transitional moments, we most often turn to the Church for pastoral care during times of struggle. Important to our theological perspective is the Theology of Presence. As we walk the way with one who is in need, it is during these encounters that we become the embodiment of Christ’s compassion. Our pastoral care rests on the belief that there is hope for everyone, no matter what your situation may be, because of Jesus Christ. Here we believe that God, who is “wiser than despair” heals while we care. Here we guide someone to define her/his life during transitional moments, not by their personal struggles per se, but in how they respond to those struggles as a “grace disguised."
