We are participating in three wonderful service projects during Advent, all of which will help make sure that everyone has a wonderful Christmas.
We hope you can help!
Ring the Bells!
Salvation Army Bell Ringing at Walter Stewart’s Market. December 6, 7, 12, 13, 14, 20, and 21. Sign-up in Smith Hall or contact Marianna Kilbride at email@example.com.
This program has been coordinated by Person-to-Person for more than 40 years and provides a full day of food at the holidays for approximately 800 seniors or families. Local churches display paper doves representing a family or individual in need. Congregants then choose a dove, shop for the groceries listed and wrap them all up in large Christmas boxes. Twenty churches in the surrounding area participate.
Sign-up in Smith Hall during coffee-hour or contact Debbie Simpson firstname.lastname@example.org or Marianna Kilbride at email@example.com to participate. Dove boxes must be returned to Smith Hall by Wednesday, December 11.
Angel Tree Program
Will You Help Us Deliver a Smile to a Child?
The Holiday Gift Collection began in 1989 under the name “Bread & Roses” in response to the plight of families living with HIV/AIDS in Bridgeport, CT. During its first year, 250 gifts were provided to 30 families.
Today, Inspirica’s Holiday Gift Collection is one of the largest regional programs to gather, organize, and deliver approximately 5,000 to 2,500 children in Fairfield County affected by homelessness, HIV/AIDS, and/or poverty.
The Inspirica Holiday Gift Collection goal is to ensure these struggling families do not have to debate whether to spend their precious resources on necessities or gifts, and to ensure that no child goes without gifts during the holiday.
Sign-up in Smith hall at coffee-hour or contact Carolyn Mulry at firstname.lastname@example.org or Marianna Kilbride at email@example.com to participate. Angel gifts must be returned to the church by December 9.
