Read: Acts 3:11–26

…Universal restoration that God announced long ago through His holy prophets. . . . “in your descendants all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” Acts 3:21 & 25

Jesus didn’t come to save Christians. Jesus is part of an ancient prophesy, an ancient covenant that God made with Abraham. This promise revealed that God’s plan for creation is nothing less than universal restoration, a restoration that will take the form of a blessing for all the families of the earth. God is not exclusive. God wants the entire human family to gather together in joyous reunion. No one is to be left out of the celebration.

It may be interesting to note that this promise of universal salvation was offered to Abraham, who is regarded as the father of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Perhaps if we could stop fighting with each other, we could find ways to bridge the estrangement that exists between different faiths. It would appear that God’s family is as dysfunctional as any family, but thankfully God hasn’t given up on us yet! God has a plan.

Is God’s plan universal?

Lord, we are a mess. We are a family. Your family. Please keep working with us until we come together as You have long desired. In Jesus name, I pray. AMEN.
