Our plate offering at the outdoor service in June and July will be donated to Person-to-Person in aid of those especially impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. Person-to-Person exists to help people in times of need, whether in the form of financial assistance, food, and clothing, or household necessities. They help individuals and families to overcome daily challenges and access resources to improve their lives. Their vision is educated, financially-stable, and hunger-free homes for all. They provide food for over 1,200,000 meals annually and provide scholarships and camperships for students and youth. In 2019 they provided 1,000 households with financial assistance and expect with COVID-19 and rising unemployment that that number will increase for 2020.
In addition to the collection, we have the opportunity to volunteer. While clients cannot be on-site, Person-to-Person needs people to sort and pre-pack clothing and to deliver food.
